Latest News in just 2 Minutes - Breaking News by Times of India in 2 minutes
I have been watching this “special” “exclusive” newscast for almost half an hour, in which they are discussing the reactions, pitfalls, advantages & disadvantages, good points, bad points, consequences, effects and everything in between of this some most important report, but my friend it seems they are reluctant to share what this report is all about.
I am unable to make out about which report they are talking about. So, I switch off the TV and switch on the Laptop. I just log onto Times of India 2 Minute News and there you are the 1st item on the page.
I think this is the thing with the traditional media, lack of freedom & conciseness and ability to deliver what core & does matter in an instant.

Read this wonderful article written by Ms Piyul on Proact Blog. She discusses how we Indians have a tendency to hoard back everything including all things antique & useless. This habit is inherited from generations to generations. Perhaps, I have not. Recently, I threw away a TV box presumably it was full of bed bugs. Keeping useless old things are just plain idiocy I see.
Anyhow, on serious side may be this habit of Indians have a lot more brighter side to it. India recently featured on some magazines green countries list. Interestingly, we Indians have a lesser carbon footprint than our counterparts all over the world. Because we consume less, save more, use indigenous tansport (have some one listened about Ghudakka – an engine mounted on a wooden cart) and yeah we prefer walking, cycling and more. Similarly, we don’t throw things easily or “Remove from the home” as Ms Piyul Said 
. (Evidenty, you can’t use “throw awa” old people might get offended, use a more polite version instead) .I see there is some logic to it. If you keep a thing with yourself, may be if you need it in the future you won’t have to buy (or burrow or find or stole in some extreme cases) again. One of the striking features of any Indian Home would be a “Store Room” where they keep all these someday-we-will-need-them things. My family too used to have one. I miss it so much.
So anyhow, I was discussing how I don’t have this habit. Like the famous dialogue in one of the Jurassic Parks in which the guy said “Life will find its own way”, I too say “Habits will find their own way”. So, what do I hoard back. Emails, Softwares, Wallpapers, Music (no How come delete it, I’ll listen to it someday?), RSS articles & Newpapers (I have really old ones dating back as early as 2000)
So, guys no matter how modern and culturally deprived (I made it up) we become, we gonna never forget our roots, we will continue to be Indians no matter how advanced we become. And on a funny note, we will continue to download Widescreen Wallpapers from interfacelift.org, customize.org, todayswall.com, Bing’s background, desktonexus.com (this is the best one) and we will keep our music library disorganized and keep 7 version of one song (may be we will need it someday) – Plain, Rock, Live, Lounge, Club, Desi & Remix Version. Just in case 
Just came back to tell I forgot to mention my eBooks folder – it has around 2500 PDFs, oh sure i’ll read/need them someday. I also invite you to Fireworks show hosted at my home which will begin once my papa returns to find that his old beloved TV Box (around 12 years old) has been “Removed from the house”

Umm… I am so lazy… I open my only one eye lid… uh where my watch is… looking for it ah… 6:30 AM in the morning. A very happy Valentines day to me. I look for light – no electricity. Quick decision in split second. I won’t be going to college. Why? No light means no electricity means no geezer means no hot water means no bathing means bad odour all the day means girls running away from me means bad valentine day. Take a breathe. I just want to say I don’t want to have bad Valentines Day.
I like sleeping, so I did until 10:00 am in the morning. After waking up, went through the regular brushing, bathing (light was back by then, damn local electricity department), changing, television, fighting (for the remote, of course) and finally getting bored. I think nothing special about this valentine day. Why these people make such hypes? I thought until my friend called me up “Hi! Dude, where are you? I am waiting in the park. Come let’s do some fun. Local guys are protesting against valentine day, why not join them?” (Our India is a country of protests; we like to protest, demonstrate, revolt continuously about something without ever stopping. Even if we have no reason, so what, we invent our own reasons. Many people say we try to ape west, and valentine day is also a part n parcel of westernization. So, on Valentines Day many people protested against it blah blah blah)
As I reached the park, a guy was distributing free posters “Stop Valentine. Save Culture”, “Say no to Valentine Day, preserve cultural values”. I grabbed one from it, and stood in a line, next to my friend, as I whispered, “Why we are here? I want to celebrate it and I am not against it.” He gave me a silly look, “Celebrate? With whom? You don’t have a girl friend” I replied, “but you have, then why are you against it. Go celebrate it with your gal” “Shut up, you idiot, I am here because I am against it. What valentine day, I have to spend my whole pocket money on buying gifts for a silly girl who keep calling me to remind that she’s my girl friend and keep crying ‘I can never understand her’.” He Explained.
Then I asked another guy, “Why on the earth you are so against the valentine day?” he explained he hates some guy and that guy has flower shop. So, during this season (i.e. valentine) his business starts booming, I want valentine day to be stopped, so his business get sucked. I discovered later on, none of them was against valentine day. Oh I forgot to introduce another guy, name not known, but he is here protesting with us because his wife really makes him sick. He just wants to time pass, so he has came here to protest.
We did lot of things, we hacked valentine cards into small pieces and burnt them, we razed buildings, burned flowers, made traffic jam and a lot like that. And when I was tired I returned home.
Sitting on bed, I picked my phone and called my girl friend, “Hello, sweet heart, happy valentines day”. LOL. I lied the last one.

Students celeberating their results
Just one week before it, I knew result will be coming on 23rd. Why be so tensed? I knew what result will be. I knew because I (and I only) had given exams and therefore only I knew how good (or how bad for that matter) my exams will be, of course, apart from the examiners. I knew where I stood and what was going to be my position. Then why be so anxious about result? Why be so nervous?
It was foolproof for me, but not my friends, who all had lot of excitement about the results (which lasted to the day of result only)
I was unable to make my parents relax (they were worried about the results). I couldn’t make them feel that I will PASS easily. Why my parents thought I wouldn’t succeed? Because they never saw me studying at home, they could not believe that I will pass. That is a different story, never mind.
So, what I feel about results.
Fine, yup! Excellent at first sight. I have just finished my high schooling, way for me for higher studies. Hey, no big feat. So did thousands of other students. So what special about it? Nothing.
I have just scored 68%, hopefully highest in school (in commerce only). That means I am all better than my friends and classmates, sadly enough, some of them even didn’t passed (and some left with compartments).
Friend who called me early in the morning that result has been announced himself got failed, It is awkward, how come you console someone who has failed in exams? How come you celebrate your own success? I had only one thing for him, “Failures are badges of success”. It was awkward again; this so-called thought couldn’t justify his effort of repeating same class once more. Sometime, you don’t need to shed out tears to let others know you are crying.
Emotions apart, where do I place myself in larger context. Let us examine.
Let us throw facts, as many as 1,905 students made above the 90%. One girl from our state exam board secured 98.2% something. Oh! jaws dropped. Big photo on the front page is all I can imagine. How happy she will be and why not? She has put efforts and therefore good results. ( not LAZY)
Let us turn to the darker side, many students even committed suicide. How sad? I used to think often where excellence is not good enough, until I read this one. A girl with 86% committed a suicide, why? Probably she wasn’t satisfied with her result. That way, I would have to commit suicide thousand times. Hey that is silly thing to do, who you are to dare to weigh the importance and VALUE of human life with some stupid certificates and papers. POOR EDUCATION SYSTEM.
Never mind, I can’t do anything. This vicious circle goes on, next year, same result, same story, and same next year. It goes on. I can’t help it, because I am not the education minister, I am not the board president. I can’t review the whole education system. If I were they, I would have made it mandatory to pass everyone. That’s best things about dreams, they cost you nothing.
