Before you move onto another blog or some other website or run away and swear never to read a blog again I would like to suggest you to continue reading this post… Well, I thought this is really interesting…

As you all know valentine day is approaching, so we will pretend that we too have got this fever. So you want to have a valentine this season? right? Read on…

I am not going to propose a new magical charm or drink that will get you a valentine perhaps we will try to invent some ideas how to get a bakra (goat) this season…

First step is to find someone. This is the most difficult part. Girls will find plenty of boys… boys boys everywhere but not a single one to propose… as for the boys… girls are also available in plenty… but already “BUSY”. Some girls already have a boyfriend, some girls don’t want any relation, some girls think friendship is cool and some girls the worst of all are already married. Anyway if you find some one, cool, if not then pretend that you are not interested in having a valentine ( like me)

Second and hopefully the last step is to propose? But how? Take your to-be-valentine with you on a boat (two seater would do, it is very cheap). Ask him/her “Be my valentine or jump from this boat. What you want?” If you can do it successfully (try it in the midddle of Indian ocean) you will win her. But if you are bad enough like the alien in star wars and she replies she will jump. Then you better watch out and start crying “you will die but not help a poor starving-for-valentine guy. This world is very mean. No charity nowadays” If you are intelligent enough you can try saying, “Be my valentine or I will jump?”. But this way can cost you your life. No way. Then you say to her that now you don’t want to have a valentine and will not jump for who don’t care for someone’s life.

Through out the above paragraph I was thinking, how on this earth will you get someone to get on a boat with you? PLEASE HIM/HER. To please girls, boys can take notice. Buy her flowers, gifts, chocolates, dine her, take her on long drive, listen to her, get down on your knees and cry for her. Chances are 1% that she will get pleased . Girls on the other side are safe. Just smile to any boy and he will be your’s forever.

Pleasing some girl is really very difficult. Once god asked to a islander, what one wish he want? The Islander said, “please contruct a highway road between my island and the asia over the ocean”. God said, “It is very difficult, ask something else.” Islander said, “okay tell me how to please a girl” . God said, “okay, how many lanes the highway road should have?”

When pleasing someone BE SPECIFIC with your aim . Like once god asked to one person for any two wishes he want. The guy replied, “I want the best wine and best woman yet in this world”. God brought him the best wine, as for the best woman part god gave him Mother Teresa. Moral of the story: Be specific with what you want from someone.

If you are successful in pleasing someone, you are great. But if not, don’t worry many people are in your gang. As for now I have wasted lot of your time…. So bye…

Oh yes, please tell me if you are able to convince any one to be your valentine this season using my ideas. And don’t forget to comment how boring this post was. (ok I said it was interesting, but we should not believe the strangers. Isn’t it?)

ok. If I was the princpal I would give free laptops to all the students and make it mandatory for all to read my blog. Asking them to maintain thier own personal blog as their monthly assignments would be like an icing on the cake. I will ask all the lecturers not to take any mid semester exams but prepare student reports on the basis of the assesment of their blogs.I would propose a new Internet lab which is open to students 24/7 round the year. I will establish a new department called Internet research and planning, in which there will be special courses on “Using Internet”, “How to Send an e-mail”, “Maintaining blogs” blah blah…

Now for the incentives, I will anounce “student blogger of the year” award. Well, I wish no one will ever come near to achieve it. So, I will anounce it and give it to myself. clapping clapping….

As for the holidays, there will be college on sunday…. only! holidays for the rest of the weekdays. clapping clapping….

Stop clapping now. I have to go now, my lecture is going to start in a few seconds… Then you will find me begging in the class “oh teacher please mark me present, otherwise…. I am going to do… nothing… perhaps sit and study”

Standing alone, and thinking for sometime, I wonder about the dreams that are no more dreams. But have become reality, I wonder, as I sip through the cup of tea. Everything is finished and remaining ashes falling from nowhere.I wonder about the dreams that are yet to become reality. I see an untrodden path in front of me, inviting me for a whole new adventure. But some memories and mistakes holding me back. I develop new ideas to escape this world, as I make my last sip through the cup of tea.

There is nothing I compare with it,
It is best to me, I ever did;
Simple, simple, no great fun,
there is a joy in walking alone;

Argue with yourself,
you decide, you win or lose;
sit down, sit down, relax
when you’re done;
There is a victory in walking alone;

Whenever we are sad, we get introduced to our limitations. It become easy to overcome your limitations when you know them. This way you can leave behind your limitations and focus only on your strengths.

Our lecturer was teaching us the limitations of one of the management concepts (Human Resource Management, if you are too keen to know) in India. After that she asked what can be done to overcome these limitations. I thought it was very easy to answer this. I started to read each limitation one by one and then went on to explain what can be done to overcome that limitation. I think it would be very difficult, if I didn’t knew what was the limitations.

See if this work for you, write down your limitations (like fear or short temper) and suggest way to overcome these. It has been helpful to me, maybe it can help you too.

And she was done with all the candidates, rejecting them all. I was bit
nervous. But still confident. She called my name, and I try to be as
decent as I can be while entering the interviewer’s cabin. She came, I
stood up.

“What happened?” she said. “No ma’am, it is considered a custom to
stand up when you see some elder”. I try to be as innocent as I can be, but
helpless. “Have I asked you to stand up?” she further demonstrated her
attitude. It’s okay with me. It was the first impression, “first
impression is the last one.”

She asked for my paper’s which I gave. And she asked common questions
“what’s your name etc.” “What is your qualification?” she asked. “I have
just passed my senior secondary”, I replied. “What is senior
secondary?” she enquired further. “Umm… +2”, I replied while stumbling across the
thought that she really doesn’t know the meaning. “So, why don’t you
say you have passed +2? Everyone says that they have passed +2. You say
you have done senior secondary, are you trying to confuse me?” She fired
back at me. “Certainly not ma’am but it means the same.” I had to
reply. At this point she really lost her cool.

My English is very good, I don’t know why? Why is it so? Is it because
of good schooling, because I have the habit of reading, writing and
talking with people in English? She pointed out, “You are speaking so
fast, slow down.” I said “okay” But again “Have you prepared for the
interview or learnt it?” she said, checking my temperament. “No, I speak like
that, a little bit fast, but understandable, don’t you see my IELTS
score 7.5. I am a good English speaker”. This was the point when she went
completely against me.

“Why you want to go abroad?” She questioned, “Is it India not okay for
you?” I replied humbly, “It was my childhood dream to go abroad and
study there. I always wanted to stand on my own and become responsible
person. I love the challenging life.” Her expression was like this, “I am
not impressed!!!” I thought, “Yeah, I am not trying to impress you, I
deserve something better.” And “Is it India not okay for you?” “I think
India is not as good in providing higher education. Student teacher
ratio is not good and the kind of quality education does not conform to
the international standard. It will be an added advantage to my resume” I
went on to explain. “Do you know what the student teacher ratio is in
India?” she asked further. “Not exact figures, but it is very high as
compared to Canada.” She was tried to outwit me, “What if there was no
Canada? Where would you go then” I said, “Canada is not a priority for
me, I want to go their because of the education not because it is
Canada.” While I thought, “So stupid, if there was no Canada there would be no
embassy here in India. And you would have not got the kind of the job
you are enjoying and you would have not been sitting here and
interviewing me, but would have been in your country”

And finally she said, “You are not able to convince me. I am DENYING
you the VISA. Don’t dare to blame your country for anything. Be loyal to
your native land. It has given you the primary education.” Dreams were
shattered, and the vision was challenged. Defeat was felt. But I lost
no hope, “its okay ma’am, but you can see my IELTS score and my
certificates, I am good student as well as a person” I admitted that I didn’t
deserved the visa, and tried to show her my qualification. I had to ask,
“Ma’am, why you are denying me the visa?” she replied, “Because you
don’t have sufficient funds”.

I am happy being here in India. India is the best. It’s not because
grapes are sour, it’s because where I belongs to, where my family belongs
to. I think life is more challenging here then any other country in the
world. For me she made a right decision.

My determination says, one day in life, I will make her feel that she
made a mistake by denying me the VISA.

(PLEASE NOTE: All are my personal views and represent my thoughts. I
have not tried to portray any one wrong, but tried to bring about the
indifferences that the life makes”

“The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door…”

could’nt resist myself but adding this piece of text, which is even more horrified, just imagine your self to be in the place of that person.

“The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a lock on the door…”

okay what about this one

“He sat alone in the dark, afraid. Someone put matches in his hand.”

I always knew that words have speacial charm in them. These words really make me feel scare.

It was another day for me. I recieved a call from my agent (eductaion services) that my file is forwarded to the Canadian High Commission, and There are 90% chances that I will get a visa. All I Have to do is to appear for the interview. It’s okay, I love being interviewed.

My agent said, he can provide me the assistance in preparing for the interview. I have learned to be humble, I said ok. And he gave a me a set of questions. Like what is your name? where do you belong to?

To be frank, I was sure that I will get a visa. Why? I have got 7.5 bands in IELTS and good marks in +2. What more they (canadian embassy) can ask for? Anyhow, believed it is just a formality which I have to complete and I proceeded as.

The date arrived, I dressed up beautifully and combed my silly hairs. Standing in front of mirror, I said in a long breathed, “Perfect”. I was very confident, and very proudy. Dressed in a black coat pant and a red shirt, I thought, anyone can hand down me a visa. No questions asked.

I arranged for the driver. Canadian embassy is in chandigarh. A 3 hour drive from my home. I called up the driver in the mid night asked if everything okay. You know that pretty stupid thoughts on the eve of something important in your life.

My interview was fixed at 1 pm. I reached there, at 12 noon. You know that silly interview (how to tackle them?) articles, that always shout “Arrive early”. I did. But I had to wait.

I was stumped at the beauty of the furniture and the kind of state-of-the-art facilities. I sat there with the rest of the candidates, I wasn’t nervous, and I had a grin on my face. Hun! they can’t match with my IELTS scores. I whispered to one of the interviewee, “How’s the interviewer?”. “She is okay”, he replied. She. SHE. Yes I listened it. You mean a lady. Ladies at high authority were always a source of trouble for me. Remember. Principal. College Dean. and now the interviewer. But that doesn’t detered me for appearing in the interview.

“How is she reacting?” I asked. and the reply “Very bad. She is rejecting the visas. No one visa is stamped since the morning.” Again I laughed, “Um! I will break the jinx”. One by one all the candidates were gettting reject. Just a second ago, they were demonstarting me their skills, their education, their dedicationa and hard work. I thought, they deserved the visa, atleast, If I am not.

Love is great,
like moon in haze,
law of gravition,
cannot explain,
how one fall in this game.

What foolishness,
does destiny plays,
how much fool one can become,
when all the wisdom taken,
away to make one wise decision,
oh you see the trial of love,
to make up for one broken heart,
a million of hearts has to be broken.

Essence of poetry January 9, 2007

Poetry can not be defined. And there is no proper definition of poetry either. If poetry can not be defined, it is difficult to define what poet actually is. But one true feature of poet is that he has an extra ordinary vision. He see what others can’t see, he innovates, he creates a beautiful world of which he is the master. Some of the features of poem are:

  • Word music
  • Rythm
  • Emotion
  • Vision
  • etc etc…

It is very easy to write poem, only if you know how to write it exactly. Your readers can only feel your emotions, if you have any when you write your poem. Whenever a poet writes something, he chooses every word very carefully. Every word has a meaning, a deeper meaning inside. You just have to understand that meaning.

A true motto of any poet should be to write a poem so that in the charm of that poem, everyone gets drenched and derive immense pleasure by reading it again and again.

On that note I sign off this post with a beautiful poem from Rudyard Kipling…. enjoy

The Winners
by Rudyard Kipling

(“The Story of the Gadsbys”)

What the moral? Who rides may read.
When the night is thick and the tracks are blind
A friend at a pinch is a friend, indeed,
But a fool to wait for the laggard behind.
Down to Gehenna or up to the Throne,
He travels the fastest who travels alone.

White hands cling to the tightened rein,
Slipping the spur from the booted heel,
Tenderest voices cry ” Turn again!”
Red lips tarnish the scabbarded steel,
High hopes faint on a warm hearth-stone–
He travels the fastest who travels alone.

One may fall but he falls by himself–
Falls by himself with himself to blame.
One may attain and to him is pelf–
Loot of the city in Gold or Fame.
Plunder of earth shall be all his own
Who travels the fastest and travels alone.

Wherefore the more ye be helpen-.en and stayed,
Stayed by a friend in the hour of toil,
Sing the heretical song I have made–
His be the labour and yours be the spoil.
Win by his aid and the aid disown–
He travels the fastest who travels alone!
